There are many variables such as whether you would like your wedding to be conducted during normal working hours or out of hours? Whether it is to be held on a weekday or on a weekend/Bank Holiday or even on Christmas Day? How long would you like me to attend for i.e the length of ceremony? Whether you would like to have a personal/virtual rehearsal beforehand?
Please remember that your celebration of marriage ceremony will be like no other as everything is created from scratch with only both of you in mind. This option gives you so much more flexibility and freedom than having to adhere to a prescriptive generic ceremony. The differences are huge. To make a booking and secure the date you want, I request a non-refundable £250 deposit towards my professional fees. Once we have agreed the celebration of marriage ceremony script, then the balance becomes payable no later than 4 weeks before the wedding date.
My fees range from £625 to £875 and include:
Travel expenses will be charged at 45p per mile and these costs will be added to the final account. I cover Surrey, Kent and Sussex.
A Registrar has the official capacity to legally marry couples. Usually they follow a set script and the vows are standardised all over the country. There are a usually a choice of scripts available, so please ask your local authority about this when you give your Notice of Marriage.
A Celebrant cannot legally marry couples, but has the freedom to conduct a Celebration of Marriage ceremony wherever you would like (within reason) and whatever the time of day or night. Usually the marriage celebration ceremony is bespoke, written from scratch with no prescriptive words. This has the effect of making it much more personal. It is important to note that you must be legally married by a Registrar before having a Celebration of Marriage ceremony performed by a Celebrant.
